Financing

A dead system does not waitfor a convenient month.

Financing turns a five-figure replacement into a monthly payment, with approval usually decided the same day. You see the full terms before you agree to anything — and you are never obligated to use it.

Where we stand

Financing should not decide whether you need a new system

In this industry, financing is often handed over before the diagnosis is finished. Once a five-figure number becomes a manageable monthly payment, a replacement that was never necessary starts to feel reasonable — and that is exactly why it gets presented that way.

We diagnose first. If the answer is a repair, we tell you it is a repair, and nobody mentions monthly payments. Financing exists here for the cases where replacement is genuinely the right call and the timing is not your fault.

A payment plan makes an expensive decision easier to carry. It does not make a wrong decision right.

Your options

All financing is provided by third-party lenders and subject to credit approval. Your technician confirms which offers you qualify for before you sign anything.

Most popular

0% promotional financing

On qualifying installations

Fixed monthly payments with no interest for the promotional period, for approved applicants. The most cost-effective option if you can clear the balance inside the promo window.

  • No interest during the promotional term
  • No prepayment penalty
  • Read the deferred-interest section below first

Standard term financing

Longer terms, fixed payments

When a longer runway matters more than the interest rate. Extended terms bring the monthly figure down, with a fixed rate and a predictable payment for the life of the loan.

  • Lower monthly payment than a short promo term
  • Fixed rate, no surprises later
  • Useful when a repair and duct work go together

GoGreen Home Energy Financing

California state program

A state-supported financing program for qualifying energy-efficiency upgrades, including high-efficiency HVAC equipment. Terms and eligibility are set by the program, not by us.

  • Designed for efficiency upgrades
  • Equipment must meet program requirements
  • Ask us to check current availability

Rates, terms and promotional periods are set by the lender and change over time, so we do not publish figures that might be out of date by the time you read them. Your technician gives you the current numbers in writing before you commit.

How it works

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them without owing anyone anything.

1

We diagnose first

Before any conversation about money, we establish whether you actually need a replacement.

2

You get the real price

A firm quote for the complete job, including permit and verification, so you know what you are financing.

3

Apply in a few minutes

A short application, usually decided the same day. Ask about pre-qualification if you want to check before a hard credit pull.

4

Review, then decide

You see the term, the monthly payment and the total cost in writing. Saying no at this point costs you nothing.

Your payment

What determines the monthly figure

We will not put a "from $89 a month" banner on this page, because that number depends on four things we do not know until we have looked at your system and you have applied.

What we will do is show you the real numbers side by side — different terms, different monthly payments, different total cost — so you can pick the one that fits rather than the one with the smallest monthly figure.

The four variables

  • Amount financed. The job total, minus any deposit and minus any rebate you qualify for.
  • Term length. Longer terms mean smaller payments and more total interest. Shorter is cheaper overall.
  • Which offer you qualify for. Approval and rate are the lender's decision, based on your credit profile.
  • Any deposit you put down. Optional, but it lowers both the payment and the total interest.

Read this before you sign anything

Including if you finance with somebody else. These are the things that catch people out, and nobody selling you a system is in a hurry to mention them.

  • Deferred interest is not the same as 0% interest

Some promotional offers are structured so that if any balance remains at the end of the promo period, all the interest accrued from day one is charged back at once. Ask the lender directly whether the offer is deferred interest or true 0%, and get the answer in writing. It is the single most expensive detail in HVAC financing.

  • The lowest monthly payment is usually the most expensive loan

Stretching a $12,000 system over a very long term makes the monthly figure look comfortable while quietly adding thousands in interest. Always ask for the total cost of the loan, not just the payment.

  • If you can pay cash comfortably, usually do

The exception is a genuine 0% promotion you are confident of clearing inside the window. Otherwise financing is a tool for timing, not a discount. That said, do not drain your emergency fund in July to avoid a payment plan.

  • Check for a prepayment penalty

Most reputable home-improvement lenders do not charge one, but confirm it. If you come into money later you want the option to clear the balance without being punished for it.

Before you finance the full amount

Check what you can knock off the total first

Utility rebates and state programs can reduce what you actually need to borrow, and the landscape changes constantly — the federal credit that every contractor site still advertises expired at the end of 2025. We keep an honest, dated record of what is genuinely available right now.

Financing questions

Will applying hurt my credit score?

A full application involves a hard credit inquiry, which can affect your score slightly. Some lenders offer pre-qualification using a soft inquiry that does not. Ask us which is available on the offer you are considering before you apply.

What credit score do I need?

Approval is the lender's decision, not ours, and different offers have different thresholds. There are usually options across a range of credit profiles, so it is worth applying rather than assuming.

Can I finance a repair, or only a replacement?

Larger repairs and duct work can often be financed as well, not just full system replacements. Ask when you get your quote.

How quickly can I get approved?

Usually the same day, often within minutes. If your system is down we can typically get the work scheduled without waiting on paperwork to clear.

Do I have to finance through you?

No. Plenty of customers use a home equity line, a credit union or their own savings. We will give you the total price either way and we do not price differently based on how you pay.

Can I pay it off early?

With most home-improvement lenders, yes, without penalty — but confirm it in writing on your specific agreement before you sign.

Does financing change the price of the job?

The quoted price for the work is the quoted price. What changes is how and when you pay it, plus any interest the lender charges.
