Privacy Policy

Effective: August 1, 2026Last updated: August 1, 2026

This policy explains what information California Heating & AC Repair collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website, our phone lines, our text messaging, and the advertising we run. It is written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

The short version

This summary is not a substitute for the full policy below, but it covers the parts people most want to know.

  • We do not sell your data for moneyBut sharing information with ad platforms for targeted advertising counts as "sharing" under California law, and you have the right to opt out of it.
  • You have real rights hereAs a California resident you can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. We will not treat you worse for asking.
  • We keep what we needService records, invoices and warranty documentation are retained because you may need them later and because we are required to keep some of it.

1. Who we are

California Heating & AC Repair is a trade name of Craftline Renovations, Inc., a California corporation holding CSLB License #999179, operating from 7257 N Maple Ave, STE 107, Fresno, CA 93720.

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Craftline Renovations, Inc. trading as California Heating & AC Repair. "You" means anyone who visits our website, contacts us, or uses our services.

We are the business responsible for the personal information described here. If you want to reach us about privacy, the details are at the bottom of this page.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and service address, when you book service, request a quote, submit a form or call us.
  • Service information — what your system is doing, equipment details, model and serial numbers, warranty status, and the history of work we have performed.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
  • Financing applications — if you apply for financing, that application is submitted to and assessed by a third-party lender under their own privacy policy, not ours.
  • Job applications — anything you send us through our careers page.
  • Communications — the content of emails, texts and recorded calls between us.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size and referring page.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, time on page, links clicked, forms started and completed, and scroll behavior.
  • Approximate location — derived from IP address, generally at the city level.
  • Advertising identifiers — cookie and pixel identifiers used to measure advertising performance.
  • Call metadata — the number you called from, the number you dialed, call time, duration, and which advertisement or page led you to call.

Information from other sources

  • Advertising platforms — aggregate and campaign-level data from Google and Meta about how our ads performed.
  • Review platforms — reviews you choose to publish about us publicly.
  • Referrals — where a landlord, property manager, home warranty company or family member arranges service on your behalf.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes, and not for unrelated ones:

  • Providing service — scheduling, dispatching, diagnosing, quoting, performing work, invoicing and following up.
  • Communicating with you — appointment confirmations, arrival notifications, quotes, invoices, receipts and answers to your questions.
  • Warranty and records — registering equipment, supporting warranty claims, and maintaining the service history you may need years later.
  • Quality and training — reviewing recorded calls and job documentation to improve how we work.
  • Advertising and measurement — understanding which advertising produces genuine inquiries so we spend money sensibly.
  • Improving the website — analyzing which pages help people and which do not.
  • Safety and legal obligations — permits, code compliance documentation, tax records, insurance, fraud prevention and responding to lawful requests.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you

No algorithm decides your pricing, whether we will serve you, or what we recommend for your system. Those are decisions made by people, based on what the equipment measures.

4. Call recording and call tracking

We use CallTrackingMetrics, a third-party call tracking and analytics service, to manage our phone lines. This means several things you should know.

Calls may be recorded

Inbound and outbound calls with our tracking numbers may be recorded and, in some cases, automatically transcribed. We do this for quality assurance, training, dispute resolution and to keep an accurate record of what was discussed and agreed about your system.

California is an all-party consent state

Under California Penal Code section 632, recording a confidential communication requires the consent of everyone on the call. You will hear an audible notice at the start of any call that is being recorded. If you do not consent to being recorded, tell the person you are speaking with and we will either stop the recording or continue the conversation by another method. You are not required to be recorded in order to receive service from us.

Call tracking numbers

We use different phone numbers in different advertisements and on different pages so we can tell which marketing actually generates calls. When you call one of these numbers it routes to our normal office line. We record which number you dialed, which page or advertisement you were looking at, your phone number, and the time and duration of the call.

What happens to recordings

  • Recordings and transcripts are stored by CallTrackingMetrics on our behalf under their agreement with us.
  • Access is limited to people in our business who need it for the purposes above.
  • Call outcome data may be shared with advertising platforms in aggregated or hashed form to measure which campaigns produce real customers.
  • You can ask us to delete a recording of a call you were part of, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it for a legal or contractual reason.

5. Text messaging

We use text messaging because it is often the fastest way to tell you a technician is on the way. How we use it depends on the kind of message.

Message typeWhat it means for you
Service and transactionalAppointment confirmations, arrival windows, technician-on-the-way notices, quotes and invoices. Sent to the number you provide when you book, because you asked us to do the work.
Marketing and promotionalSeasonal reminders, maintenance offers and similar. Sent only if you have separately opted in to marketing messages. You can opt in to service texts without opting in to these.

Stopping messages

  • Reply STOP to any message to stop further messages of that kind.
  • Reply HELP for assistance, or call us on (559) 520-4240.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
  • Message frequency varies with your service activity.
  • Opting out of marketing texts does not stop transactional messages about an appointment you have booked.

We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing anything from us.

6. Advertising and analytics

We advertise on Google and Meta, and we measure whether that advertising works. That measurement involves sharing some data with those platforms.

Tools we use

ToolWhat it does
Google Analytics 4Measures how people use the site — pages viewed, actions taken, where visitors came from.
Google Tag ManagerManages the tags and scripts on the site. It does not collect data on its own.
Google AdsMeasures which ads led to calls and bookings, and enables remarketing.
Meta PixelMeasures actions taken on the site after seeing or clicking a Facebook or Instagram advertisement.
Meta Conversions APISends conversion events to Meta from our server rather than your browser. Where customer information is included, it is hashed before transmission.
CallTrackingMetricsAttributes phone calls to the advertising or page that produced them, as described in section 4.

What this means in practice

  • These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser.
  • They allow us to show advertisements to you on other websites and platforms after you have visited ours. This is called remarketing.
  • Server-side conversion data, including hashed contact details, may be sent to advertising platforms so they can match a conversion to an ad click. Hashing means the platform receives a scrambled value rather than your actual email or phone number.
  • Offline conversion data — for example, that a booked appointment resulted in completed work — may be uploaded to advertising platforms in hashed form to measure campaign performance.

This counts as "sharing" under California law

We do not sell personal information for money. However, disclosing personal information to advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising is treated as "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended. You have the right to opt out, and section 10 explains how.

Opting out at the platform level

You can also limit advertising personalization directly through Google's Ads Settings and Meta's Ad Preferences, and most browsers offer controls over cookies. Doing so may mean you still see advertising, just less relevant advertising.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them in four broad categories.

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, including security and form submission. These cannot be switched off.
  • Performance — help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • Functional — remember preferences so the site behaves sensibly on a return visit.
  • Advertising — used for measurement and remarketing as described in section 6.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working, including our booking form. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one, treating it as a request to opt out of the sharing described above.

8. Who we share information with

We share personal information only in the circumstances below. We do not sell it for money to anyone.

CategoryWhy
Service providersCompanies that run our scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, customer records, call handling, email, website hosting and payment processing, under contracts that limit them to working on our behalf.
Advertising platformsGoogle and Meta, for the measurement and remarketing described in section 6.
Equipment manufacturersWhere required to register equipment or process a warranty claim on your behalf.
Financing partnersOnly where you choose to apply for financing, and only what the lender needs to assess it.
Permit authoritiesWhere a permit is required, the information necessary to obtain and close it out with the relevant building department.
Legal and safetyWhere we are required by law, responding to a lawful request, enforcing our agreements, or protecting the safety of any person.
Business transferIf the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

9. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the following rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of them — your pricing, your service and how quickly we come out will not change because you made a request.

  • Right to know — what categories of personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
  • Right to access — a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to correct — to have inaccurate personal information about you corrected.
  • Right to delete — to have personal information deleted, subject to exceptions where we must keep it, such as completing a transaction, warranty records, permit documentation, tax records or legal compliance.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — to direct us to stop sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — though we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will ask for proof of that authorization and may ask you to verify your own identity directly.

10. How to exercise your rights

To make any request described in section 9, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. The fastest route is email, but you can call if you prefer.

  • What to include — enough information for us to verify who you are and identify your records, and a clear statement of what you are asking for.
  • Verification — we will ask you to confirm details that match what we already hold. We ask for this to protect you, not to obstruct you, and we will not use the information for any other purpose.
  • Timing — we will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. If we need more time we will tell you why and how long we expect to take.
  • Cost — free, unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we will tell you before doing anything.

To opt out of sharing for advertising

Email us with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", or use the opt-out control on this website if one is displayed to you. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out request without you needing to contact us.

11. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, and then for as long as we are required or permitted to keep it.

  • Service and equipment records are kept long-term, because warranty claims, code compliance questions and repair history matter years after the work.
  • Financial records are kept as required by tax and accounting obligations.
  • Call recordings are kept for a limited period for quality and dispute purposes, then deleted on a rolling basis.
  • Website and advertising data is kept according to the retention settings of the platforms described in section 6.
  • Job applications are kept for a reasonable period in case another suitable role arises, unless you ask us to delete them.

12. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, including access controls limiting who in our business can see what, encrypted transmission on this website, and contractual obligations on the service providers who process data for us.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law.

13. Children

Our services are for property owners and occupants, and this website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, the tools we use, or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date, and where the change significantly affects how we handle your information we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.
