Proof & documentation

See the problemBefore you approve the fix.

You are the only person standing in your driveway who cannot see inside your own system. So we photograph it, film it when it helps, and show you what we found before a single dollar of work gets approved.

California Heating & AC Repair technician photographing a fault inside an HVAC system in Fresno

Why we document

The whole industry runs on information you do not have

Your air conditioner is on a roof or behind a wall. The failed part is the size of a soup can and buried under a service panel. When a technician tells you what is wrong, you are not evaluating a diagnosis — you are deciding whether to trust a stranger, in the heat, under time pressure.

Photographs close that gap. Not because we are unusually virtuous, but because a picture of a burned contactor or a corroded coil turns a claim into a fact you can check, question, and take somewhere else.

If we cannot show it to you, we should not be charging you to fix it.

What gets documented

Not just the broken part. The whole picture, including the things we ruled out along the way.

The fault itself

The actual failed component in your actual system — the burned contactor, the split capacitor, the crushed duct run.

The readings

Gauges, meters and probes photographed mid-test, so the numbers we quote are numbers you watched us take.

Before and after

The same angle, twice. On installs and duct work that difference is the entire value of what you paid for.

What we ruled out

Just as useful. If the compressor tests fine, you get the photo proving it — and the reason nobody needs to replace it.

Permits and verification

On replacements, the paperwork gets documented too — permit, load calculation and state code verification.

Video, when it explains better

Some faults only show themselves in motion — a wobbling fan, a short cycle, a flame rolling out. Those we film.

Your documentation

The photos belong to you

They are not a sales aid we show you once and take away. You keep them, and there are several reasons that turns out to matter long after the truck leaves.

What people actually use them for

  • Getting a second opinion. Take our findings to another contractor. If we are right, checking costs you nothing.
  • Warranty claims. Manufacturers ask for evidence of the failure. You will already have it.
  • Home insurance and storm damage. Dated photographs of condition carry weight in a claim.
  • Selling the house. A documented service history answers the buyer's inspection questions before they are asked.
  • Landlords and property managers. Proof of what was wrong and what was done, without driving out to look.

Someone else's quote

Told you need a new system, but never shown why?

That is the exact situation this page exists for. We will run the diagnostic ourselves, photograph what we find, and tell you honestly whether the replacement recommendation stands up. No charge, and you keep the photos either way.

What Fresno homeowners say

I realized something was wrong with my AC when I got home Tuesday afternoon and noticed it wasn't blowing cold air. I called them right away, and they were able to send a technician to my Fresno home that same evening. The repair only took about 45 minutes, and everything was back to normal once the work was done.

Questions about documentation

Do I get the photos even if I do not book the repair?

Yes. You paid for the diagnostic, so the findings are yours regardless of what you decide to do with them. That includes taking them to another company.

How do I receive them?

Your technician shows you on site first, then sends them to you. Ask for whichever format is easiest — text or email — when he arrives.

What if I am not home during the visit?

Common with rental properties and work schedules. The documentation goes to you the same way, and we will walk you through the findings by phone before you approve anything.

Will you photograph my home?

Only the equipment and the area we are working in. Nothing gets published anywhere without your explicit permission, and we never include anything that identifies your address.

Does every job get video?

No. Video gets used when motion is the evidence — a failing fan bearing, a system short cycling, a flame rollout. For a burned contactor a photograph tells the story better.

Can I take my own photos while you work?

Absolutely. Stand there, film the whole thing, ask questions during the readings. We would rather you understood the system than simply trusted us about it.
